The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is the leading international conservation organization in the world. For 50 years, WWF has been protecting the future of nature and is now working to protect 15 of the world's most ecologically important areas by 2020. Established in 2010, the Heart of Borneo Project aims to protect the ecological and cultural richness of the rainforests of Borneo. The vast, uninterrupted stretch of primary rainforest, shared between Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, is one of the most biodiverse places on earth and is largely unexplored. Alicia spent more than a month in Borneo in 2012 and witnessed first hand the degradation of forests, wildlife habitats, and indigenous human life. Rishikesh Yog Peeth is a non-profit yoga school in Rishikesh, India, where Alicia completed her training. The school was kind enough to offer Alicia a scholarship for her yoga training.
