Alicia Adkins is an independent country and folk singer/songwriter from outside of Austin, TX (Round Rock). With a uniquely varied style, and crystal clear voice, Alicia's lived and played in much of the world; including France, Italy, India, and Australia. With this experience, and influences ranging from the Mumford and Sons to Patty Griffin and Loretta Lynn, Alicia “[…] brings with her an incredible voice, breathtaking songs and interesting experiences all over the world”. – Les Thomas, Unpaved Magazine (Melbourne, Australia).
In 2013, Alicia released her debut EP “Birds of a feather” in Australia. The honest, heartfelt, and unedited songs rooted in the alt-country tradition ruminate beautifully on the glories and hardships of love and the wandering traveler. After touring and receiving airplay on more than 100 radio stations around Australia, Alicia returned to Texas to play shows regularly around Austin at venues such as the Blackheart Bar and Rattle Inn. She is also booked for upcoming performances at the White Elephant Saloon, Woodshed, and Opening Bell Coffee in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
In 2014, Alicia traveled to India and successfully completed a kickstarter to record a new EP entitled Namaste with Bhuwan Chandra on sitar, Shivananda Sharma on tabla and violin, and Shivatri Giri on the Indian flute. She has now completed the recording and plans to release the album in early 2015!
